AlphaTRAK 2® glycemia control solution

Solution allows performance of quality control tests to ensure reliability of test results obtained with the AlphaTRAK 2® meter.

Mix the solution by gently inverting the bottle a few times. Insert a test strip into the AlphaTRAK ® or AlphaTRAK 2® meter port to get it to start. Be sure to select the correct species code. Gently touch one of the extreme sides of the test strip to the control solution. Wait for the results to appear on the display screen of the meter.

When the result of the control solution falls within the range of control indicated on the AlphaTRAK 2® test strip vial or package insert, this means that the meter and test strips are working properly.

Control range:

Cats: 100-185 mg/dL (5.5-10.27 mmol/L)

Dogs: 111-205mg/dL (6.1-11.38 mmol/L)

A control solution test should be performed:

-        After setting up the meter and before the first blood test;

-        When a new vial of test strips is opened and/or the vial was not closed properly;

-        If the blood glucose results are questionable.

Do not use the blood glucose monitoring system if the control solution test results are outside of the recommended range.
