Origins and History: Although still mysterious, the Birman’s origins are believed to stem from
Englishmen bringing a couple of cats back from the Temple of Lao-Tsun. It’s rumored that the
first Birman would be the result of a cross between a chocolate pointed Siamese and a long
haired cat.

Personality : A cat with a balanced personality, they are neither exuberant nor affable, and
enjoys the company of other cats. Good with children, they don’t like being alone.

Additional notes: During shedding season, daily grooming is necessary.
