Origins and History: The breed stems from a breed native to continental Europe. The first
European Shorthairs came from cats brought to North Europe by Roman armies trying to
eliminate vermin populations.

Personality: It is usually a calm and tolerant cat, rustic and affectionate. They’re also great
athletes and very playful, which makes them great family cats.
